Hawaii's Daniel Sawicki has been named Model of the Year 2001 in the 21st Century Model of the Year Search sponsored by Quest Worldwide Productions. Kailua-born Sawicki, a 1996 graduate of Saint Louis School, started modeling at age 7 because he thought it was "a neat way to make money" said a press release from the organization. The competition was designed to generate more interest in online showcasing of modeling talent.But don't take Sawicki for just another pretty face, his mother, Gwen, stressed, adding "He's quite compassionate." Daniel, who is negotiating with the Click agency, is looking forward to working in Germany soon. ~ Advertiser staff
