NEWS ARTICLE: America's Pampered Prince Reigns with a Contagious Smile
Fourteen-month-old Trevor Johnston can't talk yet, but the toddler has that smiling thing down.Trevor recently won a national photo contest and was crowned America's Pampered Prince 2000.
His adorable smile earned him a $500 Savings Bond, a trophy and banner. Trevor also is featured on America's Pampered Prince and Princess Web site. He is eligible for national brochures and advertisements within the fashion and modeling industries.
"I was surfing the Internet. I thought we'd enter it for fun." proud mom Ingrid Johnston said.
Johnston and her husband, Scott soon forgot about the contest. And it wasn't until Ingrid was surfing the internet again, that she remembered entering the contest.
"In December, he was tied with another little boy for the title. We heard that the winners would be announced at the beginning of May. I didn't think about it until he came up on the Web site while I was surfing the Net at the end of May." Ingrid said.
"I was really excited. I woke my husband up and danced a little jig." she said. "It was a huge shock. Everybody tells you you have a cute kid, but you think everyone says that. It was so exciting."
Trevor, who Ingrid said looks like his dad, also has won a Bartell Drugs photo contest. And a photo of him entitled "The Great White Ant Hunter." is a semi-finalist with the National Library of Photography. But Trevor likely won't pursue modeling at this point, the ... mom said.
"A toddler just wants to have fun. He wants to explore the world right now." she said.
"We'll keep entering contests. It's fun. I never thought of myself as a photographer, but we hve a great subject." Ingrid said. "Trevor is so energetic. He's happy, curious and he has a great sense of humor."
